These points always bug me ! I am never sure whether an installable
app. would start insurgency in already existed Kashmir teritory or
not ! ;-)
Why the linux developers do not make a provision that if
a particular app. & it's dependent libraries are already present
in the "real estate", better to use the already present libraries
OR else create & use it's own territory ( read libs ) ?

Interesting, those O'Rielley books ... !
Would you give me all the links of these dnloadable e-books ?

Ditto, here !

Can't we sub-divide \home with 2 or more sub-dirs like \home\RH,
\home\Slack etc & use it with some symlinks options and share in
diff distros ?
So even if, we re-install a certion distro, every thing will be
ready to use ! Sorry for my linux ignorance. :-(

There is a point !

Gosh ! I would have been lucky, even to be on the later part
of the "and" ! ;-)

Yeh, I have done it with user created dirs/files only !

I have already experimented & burnt my fingers , long back.
That's why I posted the query !

Well ! Everybody is not genius, lucky & God-gifted ! :(
And as Bish said - if "LIH sorts out things within two days,",
most would try to approach LIH first & then experiment.

A new need without a readymade soln, tend to produce a new
scientist ! - as they say ! But NOT re-invention of the wheel. ;-)

Thanks & Regards !
