Good Linux to e'body,

Is it possible to tranfer an image thru mutt or
other shell based MUAs ? Like office logo/small
assembly drawings (jpg or other format ) ?

If yes, how ?
I have a feeling, that the answer may be "no".
( I have answered the original user-cum-need'er
in negative, but I want to be sure. )

But, assuming that even the graphics are repre-
sented by certain ascii characters ( may be
extended char set ), then theorotically, it should
be possible.

I do'nt expect that the graphic will be visible
in mutt, I expect only the tranfer ( preferably
without any attachments - for the obvious reason
of security ).
And when the mail is dnloaded thru mutt, the same
graphic chars can be cut-pasted & viewed thru image
viewer.

And if shell based soln is not in sight, then some
other X-based alternative would do - but without
the attachment side effect.

PS: Presently the user *is* rcving as attachments.

Regards !

== Point to Ponder ======== [EMAIL PROTECTED] =====

*The BEST discussion I have "heard", in recent days:*

Philip Tellis : Basically, security through obscurity
                is no security at all.
Kingsly John : True! but it's anyday better than *no
                security* !

Raju Mathur : The first step to any kind of security
              is awareness,the second constant vigi-
              lance. Both security through obscurity
              and incomplete/incompetent security
              infra-structure defeat these purposes.
