Subject: Found driver that works for Sis PCTel AMR AC97

 Hello.

I found a driver that works for the PCTel AMR AC97 HSP modem (which is
not supported by 0.8.6 driver from
http://www.medres.ch/~jstifter/linux/pctel.html ). The system is a Linux
Mandrake 8.1. You can download it at:

http://radel.inet.net.nz/sis730amr.html

About the device (from http://www.yourvote.com/pci/vendors.txt ):

1039 Silicon Integrated System
7013 SiS7013 56k Modem

Other useful information can be found at:

http://808hi.com/56k/pctel.htm

It works with kppp and interact correctly with the sound card (without
use http://radel.inet.net.nz/audio-modem-sis1 file for my system). I set
"country_code=4" (italy) as default option in /etc/modules.conf for
ptserial.o. I didn't try it with fax.
I think these links should be included in http://www.linmodems.org .

I have compiled the files for kernel 2.4.7 - 9.

About the system:

Good luck
Massimiliano

PS: Do you know how can I create automatically the file /dev/ttyS15 when
I load the module ptserial.o (or when kppp start)? This file is removed
when the driver stop.

Thank you
