Well, from the way the guy wants it, I think he is headed for trouble, 
anyways, I think it would be simpler if you try that horrible thing 
called Internet Exploiter and use VBScript...

There was a version of Exploiter (Version 4, I don't remember which 
sub version) which let a person create a webpage which could read an 
innocent visitor's HDD, not just that, it could also make changes to 
files at will.

To prove the weakness of IE, back then (during my L&T days), I had 
written a page which would modify "autoexec.bat" and on a reboot wipe 
out the system :)

Dunno, why the guy wants to execute apps on the client side, but I 
think he would be better off using some DCF rather than HTML.
