http://www.vipul.net/ricochet/ - needs careful tuning though, and a degree of intelligence (such as recognizing those mailservers which handle mail for you [1] and not complaining there). Distributed under the artistic license - so no hassles about commercialism. [1] - Stuff like your ISP, your ISP's offsite backup MX if any, the mailservers of any forwarding providers you use, etc ... fix ricochet NOT to complain to these. Oh, it'd be a slightly good idea to eyeball the complaint once, before sending it out. > - Should have a guarantee of remaining non-commercial (I've been > bitten by MAPS and don't want to support another user-contributed > database going commercial) MAPS is not an autocomplain service. However, you can reduce your spam load by setting up DNSBLs to filter your mail. User contributed = no. However, extremely effective, if a bit radical = yes. http://www.spews.org (and something to block mail from open relays - say orbz or ordb). Set up djb's rbldns (http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/rbldns.html) to aggregate all the blocklists you use. These are DNSBLs (like the MAPS lists, but far more aggressive. ORBZ / ORDB are so-called "son of orbs lists" which will block all open relays they come across. Spews is extremely secretive about its identitiy .. nobody knows just who they are, but as one of their users [on a large scale] I can say that the information they dig up is pure gold :) Several large ISPs stateside (SBC, Prodigy, Ameritech etc) are already using spews to bounce mail. -srs -- Suresh Ramasubramanian <----> mallet <at> efn dot org EMail Sturmbannfuhrer, Lower Middle Class Unix Sysadmin [Linux One Stanza Tip] From : <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> LOST #053 -**< Sub : Sound file conversion >**- To convert a sound file from one format to another like .mid to .wav or .au, use the sox utility. man sox for details. _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
