I think i didnt explain my problem clearly. The users are loggin on to samba (mandrake box) via the windoze clients. Their browsers(IE etc) are set to access the net via the proxy server(debian box running squid) which works fine. Everything is working fine.
What i want is to have some sort of single auth pt, like say via ldap or nis or something? The only thing common b/w the 2 boxes is the usernames n their passes. The rules for accessing the net n time duration etc all are set on the debian(proxy) box. -Anks > Hi there, > I think i would be better to create a script with ipchains rules > to forward all 80 queries to the debian box (transparent proxy or > regular).
