Are you going to host publicly accessible domains on that dns server?

Or just using it as a local resolver to help speed up dns lookups on your
lan?

Anyway please read a good FAQ on DNS, and the Cricket book (O'Reilly Bind),
as well as the BIND FAQ.

Wondering what all those binaries in /bin, /sbin, /usr/bin and
other binary directories do ? As root create a whatis database
for your system with "makewhatis" command as root. Then as an
user type in "whatis some_program". "man whatis" for details.
