There seems to be some communication gap here ... There are no
probs in accessing 16/ 32 bit M$ partitions since kernel 2.0.x
under Linux or Win, as you correctly state.

The point Kingsly was making is accessting ext2/ext3 partition
from Win-9x. explore2fs is a Win program which does it ... The
read mode is okay, the write mode is still "alpha" ...  use at
your own risk !
