This appears to be a case of some fault in installation. Are
you in a position to boot from the boot disk  created during
the installation process ?

It is obvious that the MBR code has  taken  the  boot to the 
point where the kernel should take over, and it is  failing.
The following come to my mind:

a) /etc/lilo.conf may not be looking for the  kernel  at the
   right place
   
b) kernel is corrupt.

If you can boot through your boot disk, then it is merely a
matter of setting your /etc/lilo.conf in order and  running
'lilo -v'.

If you cannot boot through rescue disk, i may be  necessary
to re-install ...
