Noticed that this mail has had no reponse in the last 48 hrs.
The boot.b and map installer is updated each time you  re-run
LILO. Copying a boot.b file will not work since it is machine
specific.

o Ensure that /etc/lilo.conf is properly configured.
o As root run "lilo -v"

There are times it is only during opration you realise that a
CD has unreadable sectors ... To check for read defects do:        
'dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/dev/null'
