Nothing happens. Your c: drive is intact. Your linux partition is intact. And 
BTW why did you copy boot sector of hdc1? I think it should be hdc3. You sure 
of this?

aisa kuchh naheen hotaa hain. I guess your lilo is already installed on boot 
sector of linux partition. That's good enough.

So lilo is installed on MBR. Why then bootstrap it thr. NT loader and back to 
lilo? It's good as it is. No windows from NT familty ever touches MBR.

Yes. It's on MBR of what you call c drive ie. /dev/hda.
