If I use hdc3 instead of hdc1 I get a blank screen, with cursor blinking at 
top left corner, I have to press reset to restart.
That means my lilo is in boot sector of hdc1

Or could I say lilo is on MBR of /dev/hdc, specifically
boot sector of hdc1. Sorry for asking again......Can I format my hdc1(e 
drive).
