TA == Terminal Adapter. |All i have right now is , |1) ISDN line from telephone exchange. If your ISDN line is from BSNL ... they would have provided you with an NT1 termination on your premises... to which you can connect ISDN devices .. a TA will enable your computer to use the ISDN line to talk to other computers/devices(G4 fax etc) |2) ISDN connection from an ISP in Ahmedabad. |Now i am planning to buy zyxel prestige 1001h (suggested by ISP ) but |before that, i want to see whether i can obviate the need it by linux. If the zyxel prestige 1001h is a router... then it'll have a huge price markup over a regular TA ... When I was using ISDN(about 2 years ago) I was using a Zyxel Omni 128 TA. |I just want to list out the things needed before starting this project .. .. |:-) 1 linux box 1 ISDN TA + Network with n computers(which includes the linux box.) + Internet Account. And you are all set to provide internet access to all the machines on the internet. |Where can i get more help of ISDN TA and NAT ? Read up on how ISDN works.. there are quite a few detailed documents on it. (Not essential reading .. but helps improve your understanding) ... for NAT read up on iptables ... IBM has a nice tutorial on their site. And I think there must be a ISDN + Linux howto.
