Using the MTA is *much* faster than the SMTP provided by VSNL. Second, you can send all your mails - created using other IDs - whereas VSNL might not unless its in promiscous mode. Third, you can relay others' mail if you are on a LAN. But Gurus, any drawbacks with using MTAs like qmail/exim rather than SMTP provided by the ISP?
