When i do | dig yahoo.com , first it could not find it. | Second time when i give dig yahoo.com , it gives response. | What could be the problem ? | is there any thing wrong in my configuration ? Absolutely. The 1st forward server in your list in named.conf is incorrect. So it goes to next one on 2nd try. Happend with me. Either correct 1st one or remove it.
| | Second thing i want to know is about the speed. ISP assings me an ip and my machine |is registered in that network. Now if i use root dns server to query, how much time |it takes to reach there. | And if i use ISP's dns server ,which is in my network, how much time it takes to |response ? Umm, its the diff between a leased line and a modem. Even tho the leasedline is shared by HUGE users.. still ... | | So the thing is , only for caching purpose, we use dnscache ? | | --kunal _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
