Cyrus is good. Working with a MySQL backend, is a different kettle of
fish all together.
Cyrus-SASL is a horrible implementation of a good concept (at least, the
docs suck way bad).

Not necessarily the best, but it works and does a lot of things. the
advanced users stuff is because the sasl backend stuff is insanely
complicated to setup if you aren't using the defaults and trying to
setup a system that works smoothly over more than one server.

Though, sasl 2.x may change that.
