This is a common problem for many of us. In my case, it is the
frequent movements that I have out of base  where I am  forced
to d/l my mail from friend's places and net-cafes ... which as
of now is mainly M$ boxes.

If your net-cafe had Win-9x, one of the easiest methods I follow
is to d/l the mail in OE and take the whole file in a floppy. On
reaching home I run "oe2mbx" on them to convert the file to mbox
format, and read them at leisure off line using mutt.(I have not 
tried out oe2mbx on NT/ 2k OE files, so don't know).

I am presently working on a floppy based distro for such jobs.
