Lot of tham I guess. For one, PGSQL is ORDBMS and I am not sure if MSSQL is. If 
you need a better sql dialect, PGSQL is your pick.

I guess you still have to pay for licenses. If oracle can figure on your list, 
I would suggest give DB2 a try. It's leaner than oracle and may be faster as 
well. Never used myself.

Your queries are too vague to answer. I suggest you create list of features you 
need and see who supports what. If there are any specific queries, ask again.

Blind shot. Go for Postgres/DB2. Choose oracle if you know what you are doing..
