You can check out for configuration details on winmodem. Try hunting at
www.google.com
Individually you can also try various options under /dev folder or
/dev/tty*.
Dlink modems are highly configurable through Linux, whether internal or
external.

Subject: [LIH] modem not detecting

Hello,
I have D-Link 56 kbps internal modem.
I am using Redhat Linux 7.0 and windows-me.
On my windows system, the modem is configured on COM-4.
And have driver of Motorola-sm56.
But in linux, the modem is not detected at all.
So, should i install the linux version of driver or should try anything
else?
The CD of modem driver is not containing Linux driver,so is it not supported
by linux?

What could be the reason for it?
