I faced this situation before. In my case it was my old HDD which
I was using as my primary slave. It is a hardware error. I had to
open my box and ensure that all the cables were snugly fitted,
and pressed all the cards etc. Started working after that. Later,
I changed the drive itself.
Yours may be a similar problem ...
