I have a triple boot with the following partition scheme.

Disk /dev/hda: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 1027 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
   /dev/hda1 1 192 1542208+ 6 FAT16
   /dev/hda2 * 193 384 1542240 83 Linux
   /dev/hda3 385 576 1542240 83 Linux
   /dev/hda4 577 1027 3622657+ 5 Extended
   /dev/hda5 577 704 1028128+ c Win95 FAT32 (LBA)
   /dev/hda6 705 724 160618+ 82 Linux swap
   /dev/hda7 725 876 1220908+ 83 Linux
   /dev/hda8 877 1027 1212876 83 Linux

/dev/hda2 is / and /dev/hda7 is /home for RH 7.1.
/dev/hda3 is / and /dev/hda8 is /home for debian woody.

as can be seen /dev/hda2 is the active partition. I previously had only
win 95 and RH 7.1 and used lilo as bootloader. Lilo was installed on
/dev/hda2.

I then loaded debian woody and loaded the lilo of woody on /dev/hda3. I
added the entry for rh (and an entry for win95) in lilo.conf of woody. I
can now triple boot using lilo of woody.

I booted into rh, added the entry for woody in lilo.conf ran /sbin/lilo
(which did not throw up any errors) but when I reboot, it is the lilo of
woody that is again loading up.

Why is this happening ? why is lilo of rh not coming into play even though
the active partition is /dev/hda2 where lilo is installed?

How can I find out where lilo is installed ? How do I get lilo of redhat
working ? Should I have not installed lilo of woody ?

regards,

Sharukh.
