The reason why everyone jumped on you for that posting was because the
list is not there to save people's time. You have to pay quality people
to save your time.

As for your question how difficult is it to figure out whether P$ will
work or not ? Putting the CD into the drive and clicking a couple of
buttons will get linux installed in less than 10min.

You also need to realize that P4 isnt something which the usual list
member would be using. Considering the number of posts of people
looking for RedHat 7.3 neither would most people have RedHat 7.3 What I
can tell for sure is that RedHat 7.2 works great on a Compaq EVO 550
with Intel 845G chipset with 400 MHz FSB and P-IV 1.7 GHz

You should also have looked at the vendor's site which takes even less
than the 10 min needed to install Linux.

clearly says that Pentium 4 is supported since RedHat 7.1
