|  How ? Majority of the Linux users are not security exprts, so even if it

| open source, they cannot take advantage of that open source. In contrast
the
| "cracker" community are quick to pounce on the opportunity, since they
"now"
| know where are the loop-holes in the source code. and they can exploit it.

Heartly agrees.


In fact, even if the source is know, how many admins are competent enough to
make changes to the code and re-compile ? Even a full fledged developer will
takes lots of time to understand another man's code before attempting to
make changes.
