It does take some getting used to, but once you do, there's nothing as good
as vim. Debugging HDL files would be near to impossible without it. though
editors like joe and pico are really handy for a new user who would just need
to edit regular text. but if you do a lot of coding, debugging etc, vim and
maybe emacs rule.

i share the same sentiment, and even for just editing text, vim rules for me
