Virtual users using vmailmgr or something similar?

Again, security by obscurity.  No particular need or use for it - especially
when you run a secure software and the rest of your setup is secure.

Last I heard, qmail aint under the GPL ... and what is the point of painting
everything GNU?

expand is a filter that converts tabs to  spaces.  If tabs are
to be removed from a file, it is as simple as:
