Hi ! I am unable to understand why not to 'du' it , especially whwn at times it is filling my hard disk space .While this is not happening on 50 odd other Linux m/c's on my Network . Anyway I could not find any solutions which may take near to solving the problem . Ultimately I reinstalled the O.S & the problem is gone . But it definitely gave us an opprtunity to look into the cause of the problem !
