Not just the tinkering part (especially when the difference between tabs
and spaces can mean a working sendmail.cf or not). The sendmail.mc way
comes in pretty handy when migrating across versions - just stay with the
same sendmail.mc (with some variations - like when you want to take
advantage of a new feature) and build a fresh sendmail.cf whenever you
upgrade sendmail.

So far - none at all. The main qmail beef against sendmail (it runs setuid
root! how can it be secure???) has gone as well, with 8.12.x
