Hi
well it seems like lots of file systems r getting corrupt. i have obviously doen something really stupid since the error i get is Bad Format at Line 7 of /etc/fstab. And then wehn I run e2fsck -n /etc/fsck, it says it is corrupt and go for another superblock (-b 8193) which is never found. now any hope of recovering the system. it is linux red hat 7.1 regards vicki On Mon, 29 Jul 2002 Manjunath H N wrote : > From: "godaba srinivas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > I'm a new user of Linux. > > I'm getting message liks " Press Control-D to normal > > starting of Linux " > > If i do the same again it is booting up and coming to > > the same point.( ie.," Press Control-D to normal > > starting of Linux " ) > >You have corrupted your file system, dont worry ....... >It should display the following message >enter root password for system maintainance or CTRL+D for normal >startup >enter the root password and run fsck. > >-- Manjunath > > > > >------------------------------------------------------- >This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek >Welcome to geek heaven. >http://thinkgeek.com/sf >_______________________________________________ >linux-india-help mailing list >[EMAIL PROTECTED] >https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
