What is there in your /etc/fstab ? There is probably  some  error
there rather than a filesystem corruption.

Don't know what you mean. There is normally no system file called
/etc/fsck (fsck is at /sbin). e2fsck is for  checking  ext2  file
systems (not files). 

Pl post your /etc/fstab.
