Hi,

I am trying to host a DNS server and a mail server on my Redhat
7.1 machine. I have a registered domain and static ip addresses.
After setting up the named service is as follows : When I use
nslookup or dig commands locally to locate my MX, NS, A and PTR
records , I get the proper answers. But when I use the same
commands to locate the records from a remote machine/location I
can only locate the NS and A records. MX records are not located.
Secondly, if I try to find out the status of the named service
using "/etc/rc.d/init.d/named status " locally, I get a "
connection refused " error message. Due to this my mail server is
also not functioning properly.

Guidance or hints required urgently for identifying the problem
because I have struggled a lot with this problem.

Thanks In Advance

Yogesh
