Suresh, thanks for your mail. I did check the drive cable with another CD-ROM Drive and its working fine. I also talked with some other users and they recommend against using 52X CREATIVE. I also looked at reviews on the net and people *are* having problems with 52x creative. After having done this part of the investigation, I turned to the mailing list for assistance. I believe that there would be more experienced users who can suggest a better CD ROM Drive. I am located in Pune, India and the local vendor has refused to replace the drive. Since, I have to invest afresh, I am proactively trying to find out more information. Hope you are able to understand my predicament.
