Hello.. i m a third year computer science diploma student...currently i m admin in a cyber cafe which has 10 comps. i was on windows earlier..then came to know about linux and now switched on to it frm last two months...it really rocks in everything when compared to windows..
currently i m using few rules from a file called rc.firewall and the main configuration file squid.conf. my configuration is as in the site http://bangalore.sancharnet.in/radhakrishna/index.htm i have few ddoubts, as i m normal dialup user..i still dont know much about firewall..but just want to know is it possible for me to restrict the user for certain badnwidth like max of 2k each, and the other files like which they download from net to .zip,mpeg,exe,mp3, etc not more than 1k, i heard about delay pools in squid...but couldnt get much from it as my rc.firewall may be allowing the files to download directly frm the server bypassing my suid proxy, can someone guide me to the rite way in this process.. and also want to know what can be done if i want to creat a normal user account for the dialpup only using graphical tools..not using the sudo function or console, without giving them the rootpassword, thanks in advance, always. ~rk ________________________________________________________________________ Want to sell your car? advertise on Yahoo Autos Classifieds.
