i am trying to migrate to debian 3.0 from mandrake 8.2.
but after a troubled installation, X isn't starting. the server keeps
slumping back to console and exiting with "no screens found". what does
this mean? i even tried to use my previous XF86Config-4, which i saved
from the mandrake installation. but that has changed nothing. what can i
do about this?

also, is there any way to install woody on pre-existing xfs partitions?
