Open your /etc/lilo.conf file and look at the first line[ that is the line which looks like]
boot=/dev/hda if the RHS is other than /dev/hda [or hdb or hdc or hdd, depending on your system conf] that is if there is some number like /dev/hda1 or /dev/hda3 etc etc, then lilo is not installed on your MBR. Change the line and remove the number. go therough lilo.conf man page for details Suresh On Thu, 2002-11-28 at 18:14, bhavin p patel wrote: > what r the likely problem if lilo is not install > means i tried to install lilo 2 3 times but system is not taking > lilo as boot loader > i have win98 > when i edit lilo and give command to install lilo no errors > but when i m restaring lilo is not present there to boot the > system > > how to find the problem and guide me to slove it if possible > > bObbY the GReATE 1 > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Get the new Palm Tungsten T > handheld.
