Hello,

I have been using pan for reading news offline, but now I want to
use slrn for this purpose. So, I installed nntp and inews packages
from Debian unstable. But now I find that setting them up is not
easy enough, and there seems to a shortage of man pages on this
subject on my system.

What I would like to do is this:
 o Connect to the Net
o Start slrn (which will connect to localhost's news server, which,
in turn, should connect to news.cis.dfn.de to supply the required
    articles read by slrn)
o The local news server should also cache these read articles
somewhere so that even after I disconnect, slrn should be able
to show me those messages by connecting to the local news server.

Please tell me how do I go about this.
A pointer to any article that specifically addresses my requirements
will also be very helpful.

[P.S. -- I have avoided using leafnode and slrnpull, since I already
know how to configure them to get the above job done. I just
wanted to be able to use a _real_ news server and learn how
         to configure it.
]

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Santanu
