Dont use innd - just install and configure leafnode, and then set slrn
to read from nntp:localhost

Oh.  You don't want leafnode?  See what a "suck feed" is, and what an
upstream nntp server is.

You might want to also use the /etc/ppp/ip-[up,down].local scripts if
you are on a dialup.
