If you are talking about Outlook Express here then I am sorry I can't help you here. Not used it for a long time. One thing you can do is, get yourself an account at news.cis.dfn.de, and use that account info (i.e. username & password) to set up a new news account. Then try using it to read & post news. As far as I can remember, I could do that (that's about 3 years ago). But if you are talking about Pan, then the above method is still applicable. One thing though, _after_ you connect to internet, start Pan, and select the news server you want to use from the 'Server' menu. Pan will connect to the news server as soon as you click on any subscribed group. By the way, I have never used any kind of Internet connection other than dial-up. So, what I said above applies only for dial-up connections, though I see no reason why it should not be applicable to other kind of connections.
