I am geting this error whe trying to install rpms in RH 8. It is a fresh install. Is this related to the bug where rpm hangs while installing new rpms ? --------------------------- rpmdb: region error detected; run recovery error: db4 error(-30981) from dbenv->open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - (-30981) error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm --------------------------- how do I run this database recovery ? Surprisingly, I am able to install one rpm. This error only pops up when I try to install the second one. A reboot seems to cure the problem and I am able to install one rpm but the error crops up as soon as I try to install the second one. Sharukh. -- Dr. Sharukh K. R.
