Hi Folks,
I would appreciate if somebody could help me out. There is a wierd
keyboard loackup that happens and I don't know what to do about it.
This is what happens.
Sometimes when the system starts bios reports keyboard failure and
proceeds to start the system and at when lilo menu comes up the
keyboard is fully functional and I have no problems. I do not know if
this a cause for the below problem.
when i start X session as root and switch to the virtual terminal
hitting cntrl+alt+Fn the keyboard immediatly locks up and I have login
remotely and reboot the system. this happens when i exit X session and
return the prompt as root
when i start X session as an odinary user i am able to switch to
virtual terminals with no problem and there no lockups.
When I exit X session as an odinary user it randomly lockups. there is
no fixed pattern.
I have no clue what to do about this.
I have Ati 128 Rage card and my XF86Config-4 was generated by debconf
I am using the unstable tree of Debian. I could not get my card to
work under the stable tree.
Another problem is that there is some amount of flickering that is
visible in the X session. I guess it has to do with refresh rate. The
problem is I do not know how to tweak it. I run X session (Kde) at
1024x768. I would appreciate if you could point me to the right place
to read about it.
The values of hsync are 30-50 vsync 50-150. I have a 15" flat screen
moniter of Dell.
I would really appreciate some help
Thank you
regards
Harshu.
