Hello Everybody,

I have loaded Linux on a machine the specifications are given below

The OS is RedHat Linux7.1 with X Window System(protocol Version 11, revision
0, vendor release 6400)
KDE version 2.1.1

The hardware is Dell 1400 machine with
PIII CPU , 256 MB RAM, 2 x 17GB HDD

When I am issuing the command startx with the good intention of running xwindows, I am getting the following error :

The XKEYBOARD Keymap compiler(xkbcomp)reports:
Error:bad length in symbols
Output file "compiled/server-0.xkm" removed
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server. Couldn't load XKB
keymap, falling back to pre-XKB Keymap. Could not init font path element
unix:7100, removing from list!
Fatal server error:
Could not open default font 'fixed'

XIO:fatal IO error 104(connection reset by peer) on X server "0:0" after 0

Otherwise the machine is working without any problem. Any clues please ?
