Hi! Guys, I face a problem here in my home computer. It is dual boot (windows 98se + Redhat 8.0). No problem there. I am facing problem with the Graphical sessions. At console mode, I can work for hours but if I take to any X based session, it freezes. My configuration is given below. Any suggestions will be helpful. I feel it is a IRQ conflict or my Display card. There is IRQ sharing between my ethernet card and my onboard sound card controller. Is there a tool to tweak IRQ's in Linux as it can be tweaked easily in Windows.
Configuration : Processor : P-II/450 Mhz Sound card : C-media CMI8738 (onboard) Ethernet card : Realtek chipset (Surecom EP-320X-R 100/10M PCI adapter) Display card : Sis 6326 Note : it freezes only when I open any window. I will be pleased to provide more information, if anybody is willing to help me.
