[LIH]Qmail - Server host name

Hello,

I have a registered domain called abc.com. I want to have its mail be managed by QMAIL. I am using RH8.0. My question is,

Can I have the name of the server that will run the mail service as mail01.xyz.net and make it work for the mail of abc.com ? When I tried to setup the qmail to work for abc.com, I am getting an error that the canonical name is not found. But if I change the name of the server to mail01.abc.com then it works perfectly. Any pointer please ?
