Hello!
I came accross with a phonewire net working device from ADMtek, ADM8511 USB
to Fast Ethernet Converter (1/10/100) Mbps and the same is working fine
without any ethernet cable for Windows XP (dual boot). When I boot in to my
RH 8.0, I see the device is there in /proc/bus/usb/devices and shows up as
eth0 in dmesg, gets the assigned ip address correctly from ifcfg-eth0, but
can't ping other machines.
I have tried all google/soogle, source docs but all in vain. The most
notable thing in /var/log/messages is an error message:
"pagusus.c: link NOT established (0x7871) - check the cable.
I then tryied this with a straight cable to my RTL-8139C NIC, status lights
indicated no link, whereas with a cross one link astabished as per status
lights (restarting network gave no error in the /var/log/messages now) but
the problem remained the same.
Thanks,
Regards,
