I know this is answered already. The limits are mentioned in the files /usr/include/linux/limits.h. To know how to increase these values read appropriate man pages. That may require recompile of kernel.
each time i issue the command, i am getting an error. # rm -rf * bash: /bin/rm: Argument list too long
