You need kdebase/kdelibs/kdenetwork/kdemultimedia/kdegraphics etc. Only first 
two are must. Rest are optional.

No it wouldn't be.

An unasked for advice. If you want to try KDE, don't do it on RH. If you get 
impression that KDE is not good enough, that is RH's fault no KDE's.
