if the talk is about unix yahoo messenger available at
http://im.yahoo.com (ver .99 something), then i think there is an option
in there to specify proxy servers.

if you're facing problems installing yahoo messenger, e.g. dependency
problem, then you could post them here. apart from that if you wish to
run messenger on redhat 8.0, then i'd highly recommend gaim instead of
yahoo own messenger, and if possible its gtk2 cvs version.

it'd be better to post your problem in detail, as "I have tried a lot
but could not success in running yahoo messenger at client" means either
you're facing problem installing it or you've installed it successfully
but not able to connect to the service. posting in detail with error
messages would help you in getting a quick solution.
