Dear friends
Our email setup. we use postfix as our gateway MTA for all mails going out of the company along with which we use ccMail which is distributed across our branches and divisions. The Intra company mails are distributed within thro ccMail [main server located in mumbai (HUB N SOPKE configuration - main server in mumbai and all other postoffices in divisions /branches)] and the mails going out/comming in are passed on to linux box with postfix. We have roughly 25 locations where ccMail is being used. All this 25 locations are connected to mumbai via Leased line /VPN ( 64 kbps ). Total no of users will be 3000 across these locations . My requirement To have a centralised mail server which will be managed in mumbai. My concerns will this infracture support a centralised mail server Because as of now all the local mails are getting resolved at the locational levels and only the inter locational mails come thro the network to mumbai server. Will this not choke the BW. My querries Can i have the ccMAil servers replaced by linux boxes with postfix as the MTA But my only problem is that of address book how should i manage the accounts All the locations should be updated with the same addressbook. How to achieve a common addressbook in Linux if any one can throw some light over this .. And is having a centralized server for 3000 users really goung to choke the BW because i can do it immidiately But is it a good solution.
