VSNL leased lines have (or had?) this talent for going down and staying
down over long periods.  UUCP over a phone link is a rather nice thing
to have during those times ... and there's no guarantee that all his
locations are connected over leased lines.  Even then - given high
bandwidth costs and corporate tendency to send huge multi megabyte
powerpoint attachments in email, UUCP is a rather good idea for people
who are worried about bandwidth.
