Friends
Will really appreciate help on this problem. I have searched google and
also looked up various documents etc. but have not been able to work
around.
How do I use the keyboard to write special characters or symbols defined
in a font but not part of the normal alphanumeric sequence. Under
windoze the system is Alt+some_number on the numeric keypad. THis does
not work under KDE or other linux desktops. In applications such as
OpenOffice, I have to use the mouse to go to the menu for inserting
special characters, which opens a dialog, in which I select the
character I want with the mouse, which then gets inserted into the
document. A shorter way is to use the keyboard.
Regards
Pramathesh
