Hi guyz!
Well, since everybody is talking about newsgroups.. i wanted to pop this problem that i am having accessing them. I am using Forte's agent ( windoze :-( ). But i am unable to even get a list of groups on any server. Forte says "Error Reported by winsock driver: No response from server (timeout)". Please help me out as I am a Linux newbie and would like to subscribe to some newsgroups to improve my knowledge.

That 210.214.131.210 is a Satyam IP.
Satyam had a major problem with spam / mailbombs being sent to assorted newsgroups from their IP space some 3..4 years ago - and to avoid being blocked all over the place, decided to block all access to the nntp port (and so, to newsgroups) from their IP.
You might want to fetch news over a ssh tunnel, or use groups.google.com to read news if you connect from satyam.
